Overview

Talento has partnered with a CPG company seeking a Staff Industrial Designer for a growing new division.

The Staff Industrial Designer serves as a senior design strategist and creative visionary for our client's design team and Initiatives, driving breakthrough innovation in toys and games. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to shape the future of play experiences while mentoring design excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop product and play pattern designs that launch new product innovation in toys & games that focuses on form factors, product features, and high play value.
• Influence executive decision-making through compelling design presentations and strategic recommendations
• Establish thought leadership through innovative approaches to materials, processes, and user experience
• Partner with Product Development team on design modifications, production timelines, and technical feasibility while maintaining expertise in injection molding, soft goods, and safety compliance
• Research new materials and manufacturing techniques to reduce costs or improve play value, including consumer interviews to validate design concepts and play patterns
• Shape product roadmaps by identifying and capitalizing on emerging trends, technologies, and consumer behavior
• Master complex 3D modeling, sculpting, and visualization using advanced tools (ZBrush, Rhino, Fusion 360) to create production-ready designs
• Optimize design-to-manufacturing workflows ensuring seamless transition from concept to global production
• Lead technical design reviews and provide expert guidance on manufacturing feasibility, cost optimization, and quality standards
• Mentor junior designers providing technical guidance, design review oversight, and establishing design excellence standards

Qualifications

• 8+ years of senior product design experience in toy, consumer products, or related industries
• 5+ years of experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder design projects
• Demonstrated track record of bringing innovative products from concept to market success
• Expert-level proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software (ZBrush, Rhino, Fusion 360, KeyShot)
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on rapid prototyping and presentation design
• Deep knowledge of global manufacturing processes, materials science, and cost engineering
• Proven expertise in human factors, ergonomics, and developmental psychology as applied to play
• A passion for play, toys and games!

Pay Rate: $41.55/hr - $51/hr (DOE)
